Round 2 of Protest against NEEB Planning

Round 2 of the protest against NEEB Holdings Planning Application started yesterday and will come to a head tonight.  As a recap, just a few weeks ago CBC’s Planning Department  recommended approval of the application; this was despite the obvious opposition of local residents, Parish & Borough Councillors.

The CBC Planning Committee met on 5th July (as reported here) but deferred the application to the meeting taking place TONIGHT – 2nd August.

Protest Grows

Yesterday residents took to the streets to show their continued opposition as well as the result of a staggeringly successful petition campaign.  As a result of this commitment, in just over a week residents gathered 756 signatures which will be handed over tonight.

We encourage residents who oppose this application to attend the planning meeting.  The meeting starts at 6 pm in the Town Hall tonight.

Two local representatives will oppose the application. Simon Heard, representing the residents, will speak for 3 minutes, and Borough Councillor Dennis Willetts for 5 minutes.   Representatives will also present the petition and a Traffic Evaluation to the committee.
