The 1st West Bergholt Scout Group always welcomes new members; please check before turning up, though, as some sections are very busy and have waiting lists.  As a Beaver, Cub or Scout, a young person will have the opportunity to learn skills (such as knots or cooking), experience being outdoors (to hike or camp) or to have fun playing games.  Parents say that their children benefit from the adventures, fun and friendships they experience.  It can help develop social skills and independence and give them some memorable opportunities.

Volunteers Welcome

As well as young people, we are also keen to welcome adult volunteers.  In fact, we are desperate for leaders and helpers!  If you can spare a couple of hours a week or a day a year, we have opportunities both behind the scenes and directly supporting young people.  With full support and training, you can volunteer on a flexible basis. Not only is it incredibly rewarding and great fun, but you will also learn some brilliant skills transferable to the workplace too.  You do not need to have been a Scout: you just need to believe in a more positive future and the difference we can make together.
