Vocal Zones Choir
The choir sings a range of music accompanied by either keyboard or piano, and are led by Emma Bishton their musical director. Each session starts with a warm-up followed by around an hour singing, a refreshment break and song requests. Sessions take place at St Mary’s Church every Tuesday between 7:15 pm – 8:45 pm in term-time followed, by some, with a post-practice wind-down in the Queen’s Head.
Vocal Zones Choir, who formed in October 2018, welcomes new members. If you, like them, enjoy singing then perhaps you should join them. To be a member, enthusiasm is a much greater qualification than reading music or previous experience. There are no auditions, just attend a free taster and, if you enjoy yourself, attend future sessions for a weekly fee.
Vocal Zones Concerts & Events
As well as its weekly sessions, the Choir attends numerous events, some of the most recent being:
- A fundraising concert for the RNLI in May ’24,
- The Coronation Weekend Concert at St Mary’s Church,
- A Christmas Concert in St Mary’s Church (pictured above).
Their next event will be their Christmas Concert on Friday 20th December.
