Voluntary & Statutory Support Groups

A number of voluntary and statutory organisations provide important functions in support of village life in West Bergholt, these include:
- Babysitting Circle – a mutual support group of mums willing to help each other with babysitting needs.
- Care Network – providing helping hands in an emergency to those who most need help;
- Community Policing – Policing in Colchester;
- First Responders – providing a vital lifeline to those suffering cardiac incidents;
- Heathlands PTA – supporting the local school;
- Litter Warriors – committed to pick litter in and around West Bergholt on a regular basis.
- Neighbourhood Watch – keeping their eyes open to make our village a safer place;
- Speedwatch – volunteers trained by the police to use an approved radar speed device.
- Workers Educational Association – the UK’s largest voluntary sector provider of adult learning;
There are also ad hoc volunteering groups who come together for specific events and issues such as Snow Patrol. Watch out for news on this website or its associated Facebook Page to get involved.
