Members present: | Cllrs John Gili-Ross (JGR), Katie Pulford (KP), Harry Stone (HS), & David Short (DS) |
1. Welcome & Apologies
Apologies from Cllr Manya Barrow & James Owers.
2. Declarations of Interests
None.
3. Minutes & actions from previous meeting
Minutes of the last meeting were approved. Consequent on those minutes it was agreed Cllr. Barrow would undertake the role of Transport representative and that Cllr. Gili-Ross would continue as representative for Public Rights of Way.
4. Public participation
No members of the public in attendance.
5. Handymen’s report:
-
The Zipwire cable has stretched and is therefore too low. Cllr. Stone will liaise with Playquip to rectify the problem.
-
Following the recent survey of the play equipment, Simon Forrester has been tasked with addressing any outstanding issues with the equipment and he continues to undertake weekly inspections of the said equipment.
-
There is some dispute over an invoice for the last service to the truck—JGR to resolve. The next MOT is due shortly and a new examiner may be appointed. Some recent snags have been identified on the vehicle i.e., excess vibration, braking problems and an inoperative seat belt. All have been rectified.
-
The “mayors” trees on Poor’s land are looking rather “tired”—watering frequency to be increased.
6. Village ponds
The water level in all three ponds has fallen but to date there has been no return of the surface weed/algae probably due to the recent installation of bales of barley straw.
7. Potholes
The Parish Council is preparing a priority list of those potholes within the village and the list has been circulated on social media. The public are invited to notify the PC of any potholes requiring rectification. It is hoped that further publicity can be given to this scheme so that all outstanding repairs are identifies.
8. Parking adjacent to Uncle Kams Chip Shop.
The Environment Committee formally recommends that the PC installs a suitable barrier around the grass area opposite to Uncle Kams to deter parking on the said area. This matter to be discussed at the next PC meeting.
9. Date of next meeting
The next Environment Committee meeting will be on Thurs 14th September, at 5pm in the SC Meeting Room.
