Results of the Winter ’24 Photography Competition
Our Winter Themed Photography Competition for under 18’s and under 12’s, ran from the 5th December 2023 to the 16th January 2024. This is one of what the Parish Council hopes to establish as regular village events. The competition had a number of themed categories and, although multiple entries could be made, an individual could only win one prize in each category.
We were delighted with the quality of the entries and it made the judging challenging! Fortunately the panel was led by Tony Morris (our local Photographer) who provided expertise supported by Cllrs Butcher and Cullis. Much deliberating took place before the judging was concluded and the winners selected.
Tony said that
The standard of photography demonstrated by all the young people showed just what can be achieved by cameras on our phones. Many of the entrants clearly showed they had a real eye for a picture.
Congratulations to all the winners, listed below and all the young people that took part. Many thanks go to the WB Allotment Association for providing a Charity Stall money grant to sponsor this competition; the Parish Council is very grateful for their support.

The Rules etc…
This was a new competition open to under 18’s, young people were invited to enter their images in either of the following categories:
- West Bergholt Animals.
- Made or Grown in West Bergholt.
- West Bergholt Landscapes.
With two age categories:
- Under 12*.
- Under 18*.
*Age on 5th December 2023.

- £30 in gift cards for 1st place, per category / per age group
- £20 in gift cards for 2nd place, per category / per age group
- £10 in gift cards for 3rd place, per category / per age group
