Festival Field 2022 – Our Next Village Fete
Festival Field 2022 is the working title for next year’s Village Fete. Planned to take place on 4th June 2022 it will be closely linked to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations with the beacon lighting on 2nd June. Planning started in September with a group of parish councillors and members of the public sharing ideas. Their outline plans for Festival Field include:
Sports
Sporting plans so far include:
- an under 16’s 2km fun run late morning, with medals for all,
- under 11’s football and cricket taster sessions in the afternoon,
- trampette and tennis sessions for all ages.
Stalls, food & drink
The fun plans include stalls run by local companies, organisations, and charities, to promote their activities and aid fund-raising. Organisers are also planning for a Royal-themed craft show in the John Lampon Hall.
Food and drink stalls will run throughout the day, catering for all, with tea and cakes, BBQ, hog roast, pizza oven, picnic boxes and of course ice cream!
Music
Three local bands will be performing on a stage in the evening, until 8.00 p.m. In the afternoon a DJ, local singers and choir will provide the musical entertainment.
The group have made an application for an RAF flypast during the day.
Many hands…
