What Future for Methodist Church & Hall?

What Future for Methodist ChurcWhat Future for Methodist Church & Hall?

What future the Methodist Church & Hall face depends in significant part on what the community want to happen.   The Parish Council & St Mary’s Church are jointly hosting a consultation event in order to stimulate this conversation.  This takes place in St Mary’s Church Hall on Saturday 15th June between 9 am and 12 noon.

Firstly, this will be the start of a public consultation on whether these buildings should be kept available for community use.  If there is agreement on this, then what appropriate activities could they be used for?  There will be a short Introductory talk every hour – on the hour and Free Refreshments throughout!

Background Reading

The Parish Council discussed the Methodist Church at it’s February meeting.  If you want a background read, check the information paper and the minutes of the discussion here.

Methodist Worship Continues

West Bergholt Methodists are now worshipping at Mile End on a Sunday morning. They are joining with Methodists from Boxted and Mile End to explore the possibility of a new worship and community facility on the new Chesterwell development in Mile End.

Burial Grounds

The “old” burial grounds surrounding the Chapel and Garden of Remembrance at the front are closed to future interments. The “new” burial ground beyond the hall will remain open to honour the reservations made for there.
