Fisherman’s Friends – The Buoy Band

Fisherman’s Friends, the latest Film Club event on 21st September, tells the true story of ten fishermen from Cornwall.  Universal Records  signed them and they achieved a top ten hit with their debut album of Sea Shanties.  The film contains both musical and comedic elements.

Taking place in the Orpen Hall, doors will open at 7 pm for showtime at 7:30 pm. Refreshments will be available.

Rating & Tickets

The Gardeners’ summer visits this year started after their 2018/19 programme of talks came to a conclusion.  They were particularly happy that the weather remained on their side.

Shrubs Farm

In June, a group went on a self-drive trip to Shrubs Farm in Lamarsh, a garden in the National Garden Scheme.  The owners, Robert & Sara Erith have lived at the farm since 1966.  The farm has superb views over the Stour Valley.  Members were given an entertaining and informative tour of the garden, parkland and ancient woodland by the owner.  Robert explained the planning and ethos behind the beautiful planting and vistas.

This consultation update follows the announcement of the SurveyMonkey questionnaire in April.

The survey carried out by the Parish Council on the proposal to upgrade and expand the range of the play equipment at the Lorkin Daniell Field produced an encouraging response from 114 interested parties.  An analysis of the responses shows overwhelming support of 93% for the project.

The Trustees of the Lorkin Daniell Field have given the results their consideration and approved the development of the project.  They will now use the responses to the questions and added helpful comments to form a more detailed plan for the project.  The detailed analysis of the responses, along with a qualitative summary of the outcomes is shown below.

Playground Consultation Open

As reported last month, the Playground project has made great strides and the Playground Consultation is now open for your responses.

A draft plan is now available for public consultation, based on Playground Advisory Group suggestions, before a final decision is made.  The consultation questionnaire is now online and we encourage as many residents (of ALL ages) to respond in this way.  Continue reading “Playground Consultation Open Responses & Comments”
