Fisherman’s Friends, the latest Film Club event on 21st September, tells the true story of ten fishermen from Cornwall.  Universal Records  signed them and they achieved a top ten hit with their debut album of Sea Shanties.  The film contains both musical and comedic elements.

This consultation update follows the announcement of the SurveyMonkey questionnaire in April.

The survey carried out by the Parish Council on the proposal to upgrade and expand the range of the play equipment at the Lorkin Daniell Field produced an encouraging response from 114 interested parties.  An analysis of the responses shows overwhelming support of 93% for the project.

The Trustees of the Lorkin Daniell Field have given the results their consideration and approved the development of the project.  They will now use the responses to the questions and added helpful comments to form a more detailed plan for the project.  The detailed analysis of the responses, along with a qualitative summary of the outcomes is shown below.

Dunkirk, the latest Film Club event on 15th June, tells the story of Allied soldiers from Belgium, the British Empire, and France surrounded by the German Army, and their evacuation during a fierce battle in World War II.  It follows three distinct storylines from differing perspectives.

Taking place in the Orpen Hall, doors will open at 7 pm for showtime at 7:30 pm. Refreshments will be available.

The film is rated 12A because of intense war experience and some language.  Those aged 12 & over and under 16, should be accompanied by an adult.

The West Bergholt Film Club is showing the movie Bohemian Rhapsody on Saturday 18th May.  The movie tells the story of the legendary rock band Queen and lead singer Freddie Mercury in the run-up to their famous performance at Live Aid in 1985.  Taking place in the Orpen Hall, doors will open at 7 pm for showtime at 7:30 pm. Refreshments will be available.

Playground Consultation Open

As reported last month, the Playground project has made great strides and the Playground Consultation is now open for your responses.
