Changes at Allotments

The Allotment Committee have announced the following changes for 2017:

1. The rent period will now be from 1st October 2017 to 30th September 2018.

This change has been made to help in the management of plots, so any vacant plots will become available to new plots holders from October to give more time to prepare for following years crops.

This change for 2017 will mean that rents due from 1st April to 30th September 2017 will be collected on 1st October 2017 along with the rent for 1st October 2017 to 30th September 2018 (18 months rent). If you intending to give up plot on 1st April, 2017 please let us know as soon as possible.

2. Plot sizes

These will now be calculated in sq metres rather than rods.  This is due to the large variations in current plot sizes which are either smaller or larger than the current 5 rod measurement. Plots have been measured and been put into 1 of 4 bands (details are being sent to all plot holders during January).  The overall income from the site for 1st October to 30th September 2018 will be roughly the same as  that collected for March 31st 2016 to April 1st.
