Woods Bowls Club Restarts

Woods is a small but very friendly lawn bowls club that is normally open to all ages and abilities throughout the spring & summer months of April to September. The club consists of a mixture of male and female members with ages ranging from ‘Thirty-somethings’ to, sprightly Octogenarians! You are never too young or too old to play Lawn Bowls. Day 16 of Lockdown – “There’s a Lot Going On” Edition

Day 16 of Lockdown and there’s definitely a lot going on. We have updates from the ECC, CBC, Essex Police and more. Let’s get started:

CBC has issued an announcement making it clear that this weekend is critical to “flatten the curve”, as the picture (right) says!
CBC are to restart recycling collections but on a new rota. Garden waste & textile collections remain suspended.
ECC issue advice on helping you to support your child’s mental wellbeing.
Essex Libraries see a large uptick in eBook and eAudio use – you can join online.
Meanwhile, Essex Police have also been busy.

Two weeks left for Libraries Consultation

If you make use of the Essex libraries services you have just two weeks left to give your input. Over the past ten years, use of libraries has slumped (to use their word) with loans more than halved. Less than 20% of Essex residents now make use of the libraries. Against this background, and in the face of pressure on public finances, it is believed that the current service is no longer viable.
