Environment & Highways – 14th March 2024

The Environment & Highways Committee of West Bergholt Parish Council met on 14th March 2024 with topics including:

Handyman update including:
- grass cutting,
- litter picking,
- play equipment inspection,
- laying foundations for a shed, and
- storm damage,
Works undertaken by Arches Plant Hire on behalf of the Parish Council at Hall Road Pond and
The Practice Goal on the Lorkin Daniell Field.

The Environment & Highways Committee of West Bergholt Parish Council met on 9th September 2021 with topics including:

Handymen undertook activities from tree -trimming to churchyard-tending. Additional help required October – November. Their new vehicle is now in operation,
The Cherry trees at Orpen Hall are dying, what to do?
Environmental plan, volunteers needed to maintain ponds. Hall Road pond overgrown,
Problems & surveys on Colchester Road.

A BIG HAND to Hand in Hand Day Volunteers

The Parish Council would like to thank all of the volunteers, who kindly gave up their time to assist with the West Bergholt Hand in Hand Day.

The volunteers who came to help on the day joined the Colchester Borough Community Zone Team. The street sweepers were out most of the day, clearing all of the major and minor roads. Litter picking was conducted around the Orpen Hall, along Hall Road, Colchester Road and by the allotments. Paths were strimmed and cleared of debris, making them easier to use.

This has all helped contribute to maintaining West Bergholt as a clean and pleasant place to live.
