Argents Lane Closed 22nd June for 5 days


Essex County Council have just advised us that Argents Lane is to be closed for 5 days starting from today in order to facilitate roadworks. This conincides with the pre-announced closure of Chapel Lane. Please check here for more details.

Parish Plan now Available Online


Issue 1 of the new Parish plan has now been published on the village website. To read a copy and find out more about how the village might change in future check the main website out by clicking here. The plan first of all documents the current position of the village and then investigates priorities in a number of development areas including:

  • Social & Community
  • Environment
  • Public Amenities
  • Shops & Facilities
  • Housing & Planning
  • Community, Safety & Crime
  • Transport
  • Democracy & Council Services

The Parish Council are now in the process of adopting this plan.

Parish Plan Consultation

We need your help! The work to create a Parish Plan is entering its final stages, and an action plan containing the most important improvements you have suggested has been assembled.

In order to get approval from villagers and to increase your ability to identify with the plan, you are urged at this stage to spend a short time reading through, and commenting on, a number of subject areas in the questionnaire delivered with the Village Bulletin and available online here. Eight areas for development as listed below are identified in the questionnaire and the issues emerging are indicated together with proposed action plans to address them.

  • Social and Community;
  • Environment;
  • Public Amenities;
  • Shops and Businesses;
  • Housing and Planning;
  • Community Safety;
  • Transport;
  • Democracy and Services.

You have until 31st march to complete the survey questionnaire.
