NHS Care Consultation

nhs-care-consultCare Closer to Home and Urgent Care consultations:

The North East Essex Clinical Commissioning Group, with its partners, has started a 10 week consultation aimed at finding ways to provide effective and safe care within the community – known as Care Closer to Home.  Have your say on plans to provide health and social care closer to peoples’ home. Please read the NE Essex CCG’s consultation document. Local people across north east Essex are being asked for their views on how health and social care services could be provided closer to their homes in the future.

The consultation is also suggesting a redesign in the way emergency and urgent care might be provided too, as part of its urgent care strategy.  Their aim with both of these service redesigns is to ensure patients are at the centre of their care which will allow individuals to be seen in the right place, at the right time by the right expert.

These proposals follow a series of engagement activities, known as the Big Care Debate, in which many people called for services to be based around the individual needs of the patient as close to their home as possible.

Please give your views via an online survey.

Local Bus user – have your say!

Local bus in West BergholtIt’s not too late to have your say on the future of supported local bus services.

As you may be aware, in September the County Council began a major review of its support for local bus services in the County.   The public consultation seeks residents’ and passenger transport customers’ views on local bus services which are supported by the County Council, and their preferences and needs for services in the future.

The consultation has now been ‘live’ for 7 weeks. It’s clear that people care about the future of their individual bus services, however, the Council would like to encourage as many people as possible to take this opportunity to contribute towards the future of local bus services.  It is important the Council has a high level of response from the public so that decisions are made on robust evidence.

The consultation can be accessed online until 9 December 2013.  Paper copies of the consultation are also be available through libraries or by calling 0845 603 7631.

The Neighbourhood Plan is in its formative stages.  A Steering group has been formed to produce the plan, and the area to be covered by the plan has been determined.  A preliminary workshop has been undertaken with members of the community and from all the information assembled to date a community questionnaire/survey has been produced.

Please complete the survey.

We now need you, the members of our community, to let us have your views on a range of topics by completing our online survey (click the link).   The survey will take you just 10-15mins to complete, and any members of your household can participate.  Your views really will help us to determine how the village and wider parish area should change over the coming years and what improvements the community see as being important to pursue.

If you would like to find out more then visit these pages on this website:

So don’t stand back, come forward, complete the questionnaire and be a promoter and guardian of West Bergholt, and share in and shape our vision for the future. Completed surveys are eligible for entry into a prize draw with a chance to win a food hamper courtesy of the Co-op.

Changes in local NHS delivery

NE Essex Clinical Commissioning GroupMeetings of a new forum designed to give the public a say in how local health services are run will be taking place next week.

Locality engagement forums, run by the publicly elected North East Essex Health Forum Committee, are an opportunity to learn more about local services, find out reasons why the services run as they do and to pose questions to health clinicians and managers.

The Health Forum Committee has a representative on the board of the North East Essex Clinical Commissioning Group (NEECCG), the organisation preparing to take over the running of the local NHS from the primary care trust next April. That representative’s role is to improve and influence health services by feeding in the patient or public viewpoint.

Richard Gray, Communications Officer at NEECCG, said:

One of the key aims of this change in the way the NHS is run is to encourage greater involvement from the public – to enable them to have a louder voice in the way services are delivered.

The engagement forums will take place across north east Essex every other month. If anyone wishes to find out more, they can contact me on 01206 286713 or go to our website, www.neessexccg.nhs.uk.  Confirmation of attendance would be appreciated.

Engagement forums will be taking place on the following dates and venues:

  • Monday December 3, 2pm to 4pm, Primary Care Centre, Turner Road, Colchester, Colchester (rooms 12a/14a, second floor)
  • Wednesday December 5, 10am to 12 noon, Community Hall, Long Meadows, Dovercourt, CO12 4US
  • Friday December 7, 2pm to 4pm, CVS Tendring Community Information Centre, 20-22 Rosemary Road, Clacton Essex CO15 1NZ
