27/01/2016 Jan-16 6d War Bonds Accounts – no longer earning money. Can they be closed? Clerk to contact Val to see if Council can close the account. Val confirmed can close account. Clerk to contact Barclays.
27/04/2016 Apr 16 2 Resident highlighted the need to restrict vehicles heavier than 7.5 tonnes using Argents Lane. Parish Council are awaiting a response to their query of the weight limit of the bridge from ECC. Parish Council will be talking to Eight Ash Green PC. Clerk to write a FOI request from Essex.
27/04/2016 Apr 16 6c War Memorial – Contact of BB has looked at it and recommends leaving it in situ, instead, creating a waterproof arrangement to protect it from the elements. PC has previously agreed to pay spec., which will be approx. £150. Clerk has written to formally request him to prepare design & spec. Clerk has also informed Gill Poole of this latest action. Update – Phil Chatfield has confirmed drawing in progress, should complete on 27th July.
27/04/2016 Apr 16 9b Community Day of Action – JC completed the entry form, Clerk sent off to CBC. Confirmation of our entry was received. Applications will be reviewed in early June Unsuccessful this year. 23/06/2016
27/04/2016 Apr 16 9c RCCE Essex Village of the Year 2016 – CS completed the supporting evidence. Clerk sent off to RCCE. Judges came for first round on 6th June. WB through to the 2nd round. Judges came on 30th June for presentation by CS, HS, Bluebells & DW, School Council & RH, JB, LW. Heard at RCCE AGM on 6th July. West Bergholt came 1st in Class 2 (population 2000-3999) and 2nd overall. Great news – well done. Certificates to be framed and put up in Orpen Hall (LW)
27/04/2016 Apr 16 9d Handymen – summer tabards with WBPC on needed for hot weather. Clerk to check with company that supplied cold weather gear.
18/05/2016 Email Gill Poole has advised the Clerk that the WI bench has collapsed at the old church and to her knowledge the Parish Council agreed to take on responsibility for this after the WI members said they could no longer do so. PS looked at bench & agreed that it will need replacing. Clerk has informed Gill Poole that the PC is looking into it. Clerk to look back in the records 5-6 years ago, Martin Long. Possibly Friends of the Old Church may be interested in replacing it.
18/05/2016 For your information Casual Vacancy – no election was requested Parish Council to appoint a replacement councillor by means of co-option.  2 people interested as of Tues 21/6. Will remove adverts on Wed 22/6. They will attend several sub-committee meetings and a PC meeting. Vote to take place at September meeting. 22/06/2016
23/05/2016 Email A Resident of New Church Road has raised concerns regarding the large lorries cutting the corner on the eastern side of the entrance to the school drive, encroaching on the heath and knocking the bollards to one side. Environment Committee has now added job to work list for during the winter months. Clerk emailed the resident, contacted the school and will write to the relevant delivery companies.
24/05/2016 For your information Asset Register – Clerk is working on updating the General & Hall Asset Registers. General Asset Register completed. However, CS requested the Environment Committee to check if the ponds should be listed. (£0 value anyway on register)
04/06/2016 Email Clerk has received 3 requests from the Heathlands PTA for access to Poor’s Land. PC agreed so long as care taken on re-seeded areas. Emails sent 28th June. 28/06/2016
04/06/2016 Delivery Clerk received cross stitch embroidery of West Bergholt on return from holiday that had been dropped off by Mrs E Brown Clerk to check how to contact Mrs Brown to invite her to the next PC Meeting. Clerk to get a frame for it so it can be displayed in the Orpen Hall.
10/06/2016 Phone TLC removed the branch from tree in New Church Road as a matter of urgency & quoted for stabilising the tree. Headteacher has since raised concerns & Env. Committee agreed to go ahead with TLC quote. TLC to liaise with CBC regarding trees TPO status Clerk has informed resident of these next steps. 26/07/2016
18/06/2016 Email Clerk has received several emails regarding flooding during the heavy rains lately. Chitts Hill, Lexden Road, Albany Close and Chapel Road (cottages by the hairdressers). JGR in communication with Anne Brown regarding bottom of Chitts Hill & Lexden Road. Cllr Barber has completed a full list of problem areas & is liasing with ECC. 24/06/2016
19/06/2016 Facebook Cllr L Barber has stated that he will be in WB on Fri 24th June & poss Sat 25th taking photos of any pavement/pothole issues to report back to Highways. Clerk has emailed the Cllr regarding pavement between 53-63 Chapel Road and the issues outstanding on the Environment Clerks report. 22/06/2016
21/06/2016 Clerk would like to number items on PC Agenda & Minutes consecqutively throughout the year as many other Councils do.  E.g. 17/1, 17/2 … Agreed by Council, will start in January 2017 22/06/2016
22/06/2016 June 2016 6f To discuss renaming of the term “Earmarked” at next Finance Meeting Clerk to add to agenda.
22/06/2016 June 2016 14a Cllr Stevenson attended “General Power of Competence” course. Clerk to circulate notes that she has on this training module.
22/06/2016 June 2016 14a Due to lateness of meeting, training course feedback will be added to July’s agenda. Training Course feedback to be discussed at July meeting.
