St Mary’s Update – 4th September 2017
St Mary’s Church update for 4th September provides listings of services, bible readings and other events and news such as Family Fun Afternoon, Recycling news and Families Worker.
Don’t forget, the church is now open on weekdays if you would like a quiet space to reflect or say a prayer for someone.
Family Fun Afternoon
St Mary’s has been successful in applying for funds to appoint a part-time Families Worker (see below), and we need to contribute to the cost. Taking place on Saturday 30th September between 2pm-5pm this is a fundraising event to contribute to costs of the new Families Worker. As well as beautiful harvest displays there will be games, craft activities and plenty of refreshments.
Village Fayre
On Saturday 9th September St Mary’s will be running a stall at the Village Fayre between 12-4pm. There will be games for the children and something nice for Mums too! Look forward to seeing you there.
Vacancy for P/T Families Worker
The three parishes of West Bergholt, Great Horkesley and Langham with Boxted wish to appoint a part-time Families Worker. This is an exciting new post for a part-time (20 hours per week) Families Worker to initiate new ways of outreach and to develop our work with families across the three parishes. The post will be for a 3-year fixed term contract.
Salary up to £12,000 per annum, subject to experience and qualifications. Please visit St Mary’s website to download an application pack or for further information please email Rev Dr Amanda Elmes at [antibot mailto=”[email protected]”] or Mrs Caroline Finlay at [antibot mailto=”[email protected]”].
- Closing date for applications : Friday 29th September.
- Interviews : Monday 16 th October.
In accordance with the Equality Act 2010 it is a genuine occupational requirement that the post holder is a practising Christian and we would expect our Families Worker to adhere to our values across the three parishes.
