Environmental activities carried out during lockdown

1. MUGA – Health and Safety policy in progress.
2. Play equipment not currently being used during lockdown.
3. There is a delay in having the exit brick stands at the Orpen Hall repaired – could prove to be a hazard.
4. Play equipment and benches are being repainted.
5. Bump in Armoury Road outside Bradbrook Cottages reported to CBC.
6. New saplings on LD field have not survived. Stakes and ties to be removed. Reassess need for trees in the Autumn.
7. New beech hedging at area of entrance to village is growing well.

2.

Village ponds

1. Lexden Road pond – surrounding grass has been mowed. Plan for dredging the pond to be discussed later in the year.
2. Queen’s Road pond is doing well. The railings have apparently been replaced.
3. Hall Road pond – TCV were unable to come because of lockdown. Propose to ask them to come in the Autumn.

Handymen

1. Only Matt and Nigel are able to work at the moment. The play equipment is being repainted. Benches need attention and repainting. Nigel will do any weeding and spraying required.
2. Footway in Mumford Close needs attention – temporary repair carried out by ECC.  Permanent repair request sent to Cllr Brown
3. Grass cutting – strip of grass off Poor’s Land needs attention – possible spraying followed by cutting.
4. Strimming needed from Lorkin Daniell Field to Scouts Hut Lexden Road. Also, Poor’s Land from Colchester Road to Heathlands School cut through needs strimming.

1. Need an update on safety assessments.
