Two and a half years ago Rachel Brown introduced French Language for Fun classes for adults to the village. These have been going so well that Rachel has expanded, adding new French classes to the timetable as well as Spanish classes, and is now joined by more lovely language tutors.

Open Gardens 2018The Open Gardens 2018 event is on 1st July with over 20 gardens (see below) and the allotments being open from 11 am to 5.30 pm. Some gardens and the church halls will be selling refreshments and there will be local artists exhibiting. The Environment & Highways Sub-Committee of West Bergholt Parish Council met on 10th May, elected officers and discussed History Group’s proposal to name alleyways, appointing a village warden, salt bags, allotments, handymen, items held over from the last meeting and other items raised.
The Premises & Recreation Sub-Committee of West Bergholt Parish Council met on 8th May when, among other items, they elected committee chair and vice-chair and discussed MUGA, roofing, CCTV, rubbish bins, village fete, bulletin & Lorkin Daniell field.
Dawn Chorus can reward an early startIt might be an early start but the Dawn Chorus can truly deliver its own reward. Once again Steve Hallam will be leading the Dawn Chorus Walk around Hillhouse Wood, offering the chance to see and/or hear nightingales and many other brilliant dawn choristers like the Blackcap (see right).

Allotments announce 2018 beneficiaries of charity tableAt their recent meeting, the Allotment Committee discussed a range of issues including who should be the 2018 beneficiaries of sales from their charity table.
