St Mary’s Church update for 10th May provides listings of services and other events and news.  This update includes Messy Church and Pentecost services, Thy Kingdom Come wave of prayer, Home Groups, Christian Aid Week and news about a Garden Party and General Data Protection Regulations.

Thy Kingdom Come

10 days of Prayer from 10 to 20 May.   St Mary’s is taking part in this global movement which invites Christians around the world to pray for more people to come to know Jesus Christ. Christian Aid Week—13-19 May

There will be a house to house collection in West Bergholt between 13-19 May. Please give if you can, your donations make a real difference to people like Vilia, whose lives were torn apart by the hurricane in Haiti. Pentecost Service at Kingsland Church

With Graham Kendrick and guest speaker Bishop Roger.  Graham Kendrick is possibly the most established name in Contemporary Christian Music.  Graham has a huge anointing and has helped to shape the way we worship in churches today.  Bishop Roger Morris gained his current title in 2014 when he and his family moved from Worcester, He is passionate about films and music, loves festivals and even manages a stage at Greenbelt.

Please join the Churches of Colchester as we unite to celebrate and pray in an exciting and uplifting celebration.  It takes place on Sunday 20th May at 6.30pm Kingsland Church Colchester 86 London Road (above aldi), Colchester, CO3 9DW.

Church Garden Party

This is taking place at The Rectory, Church Close on Saturday 2nd June, 2-4pm.  There will be a cake stall, tea & scones, games for children, raffle & tombola stalls! Donations of tombola & raffle prizes welcome! Please bring to the church office Mon, Tues, Thurs or Fri 9am-1pm.

Home Groups

We have 2 home groups who meet regularly to study the Bible together:

  • Michael Foster’s group who meet on Tuesday evenings @ 8pm, fortnightly starting on Tues 17 April, and
  • Gill Partridge’s group who meet on Monday afternoons @ 1.30-2.30pm fortnightly starting 23/4
