Methodists Have a Good Start to Christmas
The Methodists kicked off with the first Christmas Events reported earlier and had a good start.
Christmas Coffee Morning
Their Christmas Coffee Morning was well supported. Folks enjoyed perusing and purchasing from the various stalls. They then enjoyed fellowship with a chat over coffee and mince pies. The sum of £130 was raised which will be used to maintain the hall and continue the various community activities we run in the hall, until the premises are sold. Thanks to all for their support.
Gift and Parade Service
The Church Hall was packed on Sunday 1st December with sixty plus folk. They included Guides, Scouts Brownies, Cubs, Beavers, families and friends. A joyful service reflected on the Christmas story and how we might think about, and help, those less fortunate than ourselves.
The gathering sang some traditional Carols interspersed with a plentiful supply of chocolates! The uniformed organisations brought a wonderful array of lovingly wrapped gifts, filling all the boxes we had available and then some. These have been distributed to the three local charities:
- Beacon House,
- Night Shelter, and
- Next Chapter (formerly Women’s Refuge).
All three groups were most grateful and send heartfelt thanks to the youngster for the gifts.
