Let the music begin
As the summer break comes to an end, normal term-time activities resume and music begins again. With rehearsals taking place every Friday evening in term-time, West Bergholt Concert Band’s first is on Friday 7th between 6 pm and 9 pm at Heathlands School.
The band plays a wide range of music including Disney, Film, Theatre, Classic, Shows, Pop & Soul so there is something for all tastes. Musicians enjoy a fun and relaxed environment with experienced players on hand to help. The band is also open to new members (Grade 1 -4 Training, Grade 5+ Concert); can you play a brass or woodwind instrument, if so why not come along and try (& if not try, listen)?

About the Band
Established in 1978 the band is one of Colchester’s longest running Concert Bands. They are a friendly group of musicians who are of a wide range of standards with ages ranging from 8 years to 70+. They:
- Play music for fun! With classical, show tunes, big band and pop music there is something for everyone,
- Organise events in the community to encourage the next generation of musicians,
- Raise money for charity, over £35,000 in the last decade,
- Perform concerts in a variety of venues from the West Cliff Theatre to St Botolph’s Colchester.
In the many events they perform, they raise money for charities having raised over £40,000 in 10 years.

The Concert Band’s next public event is their 40th Anniversary Concert at St Peter ad Vincula at Coggeshall on November 17th starting at 7:30 pm. Look out for more details later.
