Environment & Highways – 10th April 2025

The Environment & Highways Committee of West Bergholt Parish Council met on 10th April 2025 with topics including:

  • Handymen’s Report including:
    • Seasonal maintenance,
    • Saplings planted,
    • Damaged bollards near the Scout Hut, and
    • Maintenance of Poor’s Land and Ponds.
  • Removal of rubbish bins at the Coop
  • Practice Pitch for the Lorkin Daniell Field,
  • VE Day 80 Update, and
  • National Grid Pylons update and agreed action.

Environment & Highways – 13th March 2025

The Environment & Highways Committee of West Bergholt Parish Council met on 13th March 2025 with topics including:

Queen's Head pond

  • Handymen’s Report including:
    • Barley straw to be placed in ponds,
    • New hedging at the corner of Armoury Road,
  • Replacing the dead Oak Tree on Poors Land,
  • Planning for the VE Day 80 commemoration,
  • With future discussions to be had on:
    • Playground Inspections, and
    • A Dog by-law.

Environment & Highways – 8th June 2023

The Environment & Highways Committee of West Bergholt Parish Council met on 8th June 2023 with topics including:

Environment image to accompany 8th June 2023 minutes. Bee on thistle.
  • Appointing Transport and Public Rights of Way Representatives,
  • An update on Handymen including a number of relatively minor issues to rectify in the playground following ROSPA inspection also some concerns about mowers, truck and other equipment,
  • Progress on wildlife areas on parish council owned land,
  • Discussion of a tree inspection with some mixed news,
  • The condition of village ponds,
  • How to continue undertaking some local works given the cessation of the Essex Highways Devolution scheme.
