Autumn Clean as Spring was Postponed

Day 91 lockdown coincides with Windrush Day commemorating the Windrush generation and their legacy.  You can find out more about this on Wikipedia and I ‘tip a hat to it’ at the end of the update.  The day also sees the start of a week of activity leading up to Armed Forces Day on Saturday which is where we start; other items:

The Keep Britain Tidy campaign is organising Great British Spring Clean 2019 which runs between 22nd March – 23rd April.  They’re aiming to inspire around half a million people to join forces – in partnership with community organisations, businesses and councils – to collect and safely dispose of litter from our streets, parks and beaches, recycling as much as possible.

Get involved

Last year, countrywide, nearly 400,000 volunteered to participate in the 2018 Spring Clean with Continue reading “Great British Spring Clean 2019”

Great British Spring CleanGreat British Spring Clean

The Great British Spring Clean is a campaign with a simple aim: to bring people across the country together to clear up the litter that blights our towns, villages, countryside and beaches.

The campaign wants to inspire 400,000 people to get outdoors, get active and help clear up the rubbish that lies around us.  Join this growing army of Litter Heroes who have had enough of other people’s litter and are willing to do something about it. Starting from the West Bergholt Cricket Club, Manor Road, at 11am on Saturday 1st April this is no April Fool jest (although bad jokes might be excused).   Why not spend an hour helping to tidy our village up and take pride in our beautiful village.

Families are welcome and all equipment will be provided.  Following the litter pick there will also be free Continue reading “Spring Clean”

Bang on Timing

Litter Warriors

Litter Warriors timing couldn't be betterBang On Timing

Just as all the firework debris litters our streets the timing of the West Bergholt Litter Warriors plan to hit the streets on Sunday 6th November couldn’t be better.

As ever, all equipment will be provided and the Warriors will be leaving from outside the Orpen Hall at 10am and spend an hour picking.  Why not join them & help to keep West Bergholt beautiful?
