Cake & Prosecco? Care Network hits 30
The 30th Care Network AGM will be held on Wednesday 19th April at 7.30pm in the John Lampon Hall. Members will celebrate this special anniversary with invited guests including some of the original founding volunteers. Cake and prosecco, and maybe more, will also be on offer. The meeting is open to all residents of the village, so come along and show support and hear about Care Network’s achievements.
The Care Network was established in the village by a small group of residents 30 years ago. It aimed to provide a range of support to local people whose needs could not be met in other ways. Its operations have changed but it still provides a valuable transport service (mainly for medical appointments), to local residents. Last year over 260 journeys were made by about 20 volunteer drivers.
If you live in the village and need help with transport for a medical or important appointment, please call 0300 777 3100. If you feel able to offer time as a driver, when it suits you, for maybe an hour or so a month, please contact Harry Stone on 01206 241026.
