Planning & Development Committee – 14th October 2024

Meeting on 14th October 2024 the Planning & Development Committee first reviewed actions from the previous meeting. They then appointed Cllr. Chamberlain as the new Vice Chair.  The Committee then discussed an application and an appeal, supporting the application in Mumford Road and opposing the appeal in Nayland Road.

Minutes of the Planning and Development Committee Meeting

Held on Monday 14th October 2024 at 7.30pm in the John Lampon Hall

It is the aim of the Parish Council to seek a high standard of design for all new developments and extensions in the Village.

The Parish Council will take into account the West Bergholt Neighbourhood Plan, Government National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) and CBC Planning Policies when commenting on individual applications.

Minutes were all agreed

Action: An online survey is now open: Proposed reforms to the National Planning Policy Framework.  Councillor Tyrell has asked the Clerk Assistant to respond on behalf of the West Bergholt Planning & Development Committee before the consultation closes 24 September 2024.

Resolved: The Clerk Assistant submitted the online survey on behalf of WBPC on 18th September 2024.

Action: To agree the updated Neighbourhood Plan with the removal of the VDS as being outdated guidance, to be emailed to [email protected] for upload to CCC website.

Resolved: The Planning & Development Committee formally agreed the update to the Neighbourhood Plan and recommended this action to the Parish Council at their meeting held on 25th September 2024. The PC committee were all in favour.

Action: Cllr Butcher will now liaise with the Clerk to update the Neighbourhood Plan for submission to Laura Golding.

4.   Public participation and to receive any pre-application representations.

5.    To elect a new Vice Chair of the Planning & Development Committee

Cllr Butcher proposed to approve Cllr Chamberlain as Vice Chair of the Planning Committee. Cllr Savage seconded. All in favour.

Comment: Having considered all the details of this application, the Parish Council has decided not to comment

Planning Appeal: Replacement of 3 agricultural buildings with 3 dwellings

Comment: Having considered all the details of this application, the Parish Council has decided to submit a letter to The Planning Inspectorate outlining their objection to the appeal

Decision: Object
