Mulled Wine & Abbey Road
The Friends of St Mary’s Old Church are holding two events over the coming weeks.
Mulled Wine & Mince Pies
The Friends invite you to join them for Mulled Wine & Mince Pies at St Mary’s Old Church on Sunday, 24th November. This free event runs from 11:30am to 1:30pm and all are welcome! The highlight of the day will be an enchanting performance by Octavia, members of Quire, from 12:30pm to 1pm.
The music for Octavia is distinguished by the use of close harmony, polyphony and unison singing in several of the vocal styles found in the countries from which the World Music of Quire is selected. The repertoire includes English and Irish folk-type material and women’s choir music from Africa, South America, Polynesia and Europe.

About Abbey Road
Abbey Road comprises five experienced, local, musicians. Lou Moody (guitar/vocals), Chris Halls (Guitar/vocals), Sean Gildea (bass/vocals), Rik Parry (percussion/vocals) and Pat Coy (Guitar/vocals). They all play in various bands in various genres but have a common love of the music of The Beatles.
After some fun jam sessions they decided to take it more seriously and formed a more permanent band. They cover the music from the very earliest Beatles hits to songs recorded much later in their career.
Their mantra at all gigs is ”A GOOD TIME WILL BE HAD BY ALL”
