The Wellbeing Benefits of Gardening are just one of many topics West Bergholt Gardeners hope to cover. Last month Colchester Hospital opened their Wellbeing Garden designed by a top RHS designer. Are you passionate about gardening? If so, why not join them and dive into a world of horticultural wonders! They host a variety of engaging speakers who cover a wide range of fascinating topics.

Become a member for just £25 a year, or simply drop in for the talks that pique your interest at £5 per evening. Payments can be made by card or cash.

Meeting Schedule

We gather on the third Monday of each month from September to December and February to May. Doors open at 7:15 PM for a 7:30 PM start.

Upcoming Events

  • September 16: Marc McHearne from Beth Chatto Gardens. Beth Chatto were involved in the Wellbeing Garden project referenced earlier.
Plus, we’ll have our brief AGM—consider joining our committee or sharing your ideas for future meetings!
  • October 21: Dr. Ian Bedford, a renowned research entomologist, will enlighten us on why we all need wasps. 🐝
  • November 18: Rose Cottage Plants, specialists in dahlias, bulbs, and perennials, will guide us on planning for Spring. There will also be an opportunity to purchase their quality products.
  • December 9 (second Monday): Our ever-popular annual quiz returns!  📝

In addition to our monthly meetings, we also organize visits to gardens and nurseries. For more information or to join us, please email us at [email protected].

Tip of the Season:

This year hasn’t been great for insects, which might affect the pollination of plants and the availability of seed heads for birds in winter. Consider leaving your garden a bit untidy this autumn to help out our feathered friends. Come grow with us! 🌸🌼🌻
