The Big Bang Quiz is aimed at any 11 – 18 year-olds who would enjoy a quiz and several other activities this Friday 11th October.  All you need to do is turn up at St Mary’s Church between 7:45 pm – 9:30 pm, donations optional.  The quiz is being organised by the Wired Youth Group.

St Mary’s Church has a once in a generation opportunity. The church hall has reached the end of its lifespan and needs to be replaced. At the same time the Methodist Church and hall are up for sale and the Village, with St Mary’s, are expressing an interest in taking them on jointly to continue to make them available for the community.

Art lovers turned out in their hundreds to visit the Art Show in the Old Church.  In just 10 hours over the weekend of 15th – 16th June 320 visitors came to enjoy an art exhibition.  Local artists had produced 185 works of art for the exhibition.  The artists had used a variety of mediums to produce paintings which ranged in size from small to supersize.

Residents showed lots of interest in the future of the Methodist Church & Hall with 75 attending our recent consultation event.  The next step is to participate in an online survey established by the Parish Council and St Mary’s Church to build on the event.  The deadline for completing the survey is 10 pm on Sunday 30th June.

St Mary’s Church is holding a quiz evening on 6th July, to raise funds to help finance the work of their Families’ Worker, Jo Jeffery.  If you wonder what Jo does; she works with all the 3 village schools in the local Church community, toddler and youth groups.  She supports staff and leaders getting alongside families providing valuable Christian input.
