The Premises & Recreation Sub-Committee of West Bergholt Parish Council met on 8th May when, among other items, they elected committee chair and vice-chair and discussed MUGA, roofing, CCTV, rubbish bins, village fete, bulletin & Lorkin Daniell field.
Allotments announce 2018 beneficiaries of charity tableAt their recent meeting, the Allotment Committee discussed a range of issues including who should be the 2018 beneficiaries of sales from their charity table. Last year they raised well over £4,000, over twice the previous year’s result, and would love to see even more this year.

After the resounding success of last year’s Village Fete, attended by well over 600 people, it is hard to know how we can follow that. Not only did the day see everybody enjoying themselves but it didn’t cost the village a penny with entry fees for competitions covering costs. Village Fete & Produce ShowThis will take place on Saturday 9th September between 12noon and 4pm at the Orpen Hall & Lorkin Daniell Field. What we hope will become an annual event, this is intended for all the family to enjoy and to help build community bonds.

After the success of the Queen’s Birthday Celebrations many people felt that it was time to resurrect the West Bergholt Annual Village Fete. We can envisage an event taking place some time around the August Bank Holiday weekend, based in the Orpen Hall and on the Lorkin Daniell Field offering:
Would you like to be involved in organising an Annual West Bergholt Fete?
Do you have ideas about what the Fete could consist of?
Do you know someone else who might?
Then come along to the first Village Fete Working Party meeting on Monday 14th November at 7.30pm in the John Lampon Hall, Lexden Road.
This will not be in competition with the School’s Summer Fayre, the PTA are keen to be involved, as they were for the QEII 90th Celebrations.
