The Fete & Produce Show will be held in the Orpen Hall & Lorkin Daniell Field from 12-4pm on Sat Sept 9th.

Produce Show in Orpen Hall

Over 350 entries have already been received; it’s not too late for late entries but 1st September is the last day; entry forms available at the Allotment Stall.

There will be certificates for 1st, 2nd & 3rd Prizes and Best Exhibit in each Category. We also have 12 Trophies (some dating back to 1913) being awarded for the most points in each category, Best in Show, Children’s Best in Show and the Family with the most points.

The Prize Giving will be at 3pm and then donated exhibits will be auctioned off at 3.45pm.

Event Arena

Barney the Beagle will be attending from the Tom Bowdidge Foundation; the West Bergholt Concert Band are performing and there will be a Hoopla Demonstration.

Get your entries in on the day for the Tug of War (max teams of 6 – over 16’s only) as well as Wellie Throwing, Egg & Spoon and Sack Races for children & adults. Children under 12 can also enter the Fancy Dress Competition. Prizes will be on offer for the winners of all the events.

Stalls & Concessions

Various organisations will be manning stalls, eg. WI selling cakes, Flower Club showing how to arrange a bargain bunch of supermarket flowers, Toddlers on hook a duck, Target Goal & Penalty Shoot Out from the Youth Football Team.  Other kids activities include a variety of Inflatables and Rides for all ages.

Bell Ringing

The  Friends of St. Mary’s Old Church invite you to call and say hello at their gazebo. Their display board will update you on their fund raising for the Keep The Bell Ringing Appeal.  Thanks to village residents, village groups and our local Councillors they reached their target in May this year. To complement their appeal of ‘Keep The Bell Ringing’, visitors can try their hand with handbells using numbered bell music.  They will also be selling some interesting history books about West Bergholt, written by Jon Lander, who was for some years a resident of West Bergholt.

Food & Drink

Bluebells will be selling tea & cakes by the John Lampon Hall, Bergholt Youth Group are selling sweets & squash for the kids from the gazebo, there will also be a local Burger and Ice Cream Vans attending and Beer & Pimms on sale from the West Bergholt Football Clubhouse.

Bring your deck chairs or a picnic blanket and make it a family day out.
