New Bus Stop Welcomed By Residents

New Bus Stop Welcomed By Residents

There have been numerous complaints over the years about the location of the bus stop in Colchester Road.  With these in mind, the Parish Council approached the Local Highways Panel who agreed to install a new one.  The old stop was the most used in the village but had numerous shortcomings:

  • being in a cramped location queues quickly blocked the footway,
  • there was no space for seating, and
  • no shelter from the elements.

Last Friday saw Essex Highways workmen installing the new bus shelter in front of the Truman Building with the result now there for all to see in its glory!  Not only does it have ample seating and provide shelter but, as the pictures show, allows free flow along the pavement.
