The Premises & Recreation Committee of West Bergholt Parish Council met on 1st July 2019 when they discussed the MUGA, online bookings, roofing, Village Fete, handyman schedules, VE Day 2020, and other regular matters.
Parking & Roads on Fete DayLet’s start with parking. The only parking allowed in the Orpen Hall car park during the fete itself is for the disabled; this must be pre-booked with the Parish Clerk. Stallholders will be allowed to park temporarily whilst setting up or clearing down but will then need to find alternative parking elsewhere. The 2019 Village FeteThe 2019 Village Fete promises something for everybody – not just those visiting it. Coming Soon – the 2018 Village FeteSince its launch in March, the Village Fete Working Party has been working hard to deliver the 2018 Village Fete. It is now set to take over the Orpen Hall & fields on Saturday 1st September between 12 noon and 4 pm during which time there will be something for everybody going on.

Village Fete & Produce ShowThis will take place on Saturday 9th September between 12noon and 4pm at the Orpen Hall & Lorkin Daniell Field. What we hope will become an annual event, this is intended for all the family to enjoy and to help build community bonds.

After the success of the Queen’s Birthday Celebrations many people felt that it was time to resurrect the West Bergholt Annual Village Fete. We can envisage an event taking place some time around the August Bank Holiday weekend, based in the Orpen Hall and on the Lorkin Daniell Field offering:
Would you like to be involved in organising an Annual West Bergholt Fete?
Do you have ideas about what the Fete could consist of?
Do you know someone else who might?
Then come along to the first Village Fete Working Party meeting on Monday 14th November at 7.30pm in the John Lampon Hall, Lexden Road.
This will not be in competition with the School’s Summer Fayre, the PTA are keen to be involved, as they were for the QEII 90th Celebrations.
