What do you know about County Lines?

County Lines might be operating closer than you think

The National Crime Agency (NCA) operates a specialist centre to coordinate on all matters related to County Lines. They have identified Essex as a county where there is limited awareness of the signs of exploitation of children by County Lines groups.

To address this a webinar has been prepared for parents with little or no understanding of what exploitation looks like. All parents will have access to it.

This news round-up starts with the First Window opening this evening and then also covers:

How it Started

Inspired by other places around the country that turn their village into a giant advent calendar, St Mary’s are very grateful to those who volunteered to decorate a window representing a part of the nativity story.

The idea is that each window has a number in it representing their day and that the actual design is not revealed until the allocated day. The revealed designs are then lit each Continue reading “The First Window Opens This Evening (& other news)”

A Giant Advent Calendar for West Bergholt

Advent trail windows 2020

West Bergholt as a Giant Advent Calendar?

St Mary’s Church wants to turn the village into a giant Advent Calendar; do you want to be involved?  In other news, do you fancy sitting on the bench?

To celebrate Christmas and what it means to our community, we would like to turn West Bergholt into a giant advent calendar!  The idea is to use 24 windows around the village with 1 new window being revealed each day. Each window will tell part of the Christmas story.  You can look for a new window each day or save a few and do a trail!

Would you like your house or shop to be part of the village advent calendar? You can use an upstairs or downstairs window providing it is visible to people passing by.
