A Cleaner/Caretaker is required for the Orpen Hall Complex, Lexden Rd, West Bergholt.

Voter ID now required to vote

Photographic Voter ID Now Required

The Council Elections taking place on 4th May 2023 will be the first at which registered electors will need to show an approved Photo ID in order to vote. If you don’t have a valid ID you can apply for a free Voter ID Card.

Your Photo ID doesn’t have to still be ‘in date’ as long as it still looks like you so expired Passports etc… can still be used.

To compound the current closure of Chapel Lane to through traffic, 17th – 19th December sees more disruption.  Anglian Water will be undertaking Valve Checks which will entail multi-way traffic controls at the junction of New Church Road and Chapel Road.  Anglian Water will also be working in Pirie Road over those days although traffic disruption is not expected.

Earlier today there was an incident in New Church Road whereby a bus struck a tree causing the road to become blocked and passengers, none of whom are believed to have been injured, to be evacuated from the vehicle.

Roadworks in Lexden Road April 2016

Between 11th & 14th April Lexden Road will be closed to through traffic from the junction with Sackville Way south for a relatively short distance whilst the National Grid carries out essential work to connect properties to the gas network.  The alternative route from 50 – 88 Lexden Road (& vice versa) will be via: Lexden Rd, New Church Road, Chapel Road and vice versa.  Access for emergency services and pedestrians will be maintained at all times.
