Day 21 of Lockdown
Day 21 and we’ve managed to behave ourselves for 3 weeks! There hasn’t been much official news over the holiday weekend but something did come up. Ipswich & Colchester Hospitals are short of scrubs (and other stuff but that probably can’t be made at home). We will also go for some light relief as well in the form of TWO musical treats.
Scrubs Appeal
If you want to keep track of what’s happening in our local hospital you can follow their news updates here. It’s interesting to note that virtually all COVID-19 related deaths recorded at Colchester Hospital are aged over 60. However, they have a shortage of scrubs.
The hospitals’ charity arm has put up detailed instructions on making scrubs suitable for use in the hospitals. There is clear guidance on what fabrics to use, how to obtain the patterns needed and more. The link you need is colchesteripswichcharity.org.uk/cv19staffwellbeing/scrubs/.
A Local(ish) Business Turns Hands to Making Sanitiser
If you fancy enjoying some local artisan Oysterman Gin you might have to wait until after the lockdown.
