For review annually

Purpose of the Working Party

West Bergholt Parish Council in its 2024/25 Action Plan proposed to seek to improve the cycling environment of West Bergholt, to determine the need for cycle facilities/additional facilities in West Bergholt, promote cycling routes, including off-road, investigate reinstatement of village-to-village cycle rides/rides to places of attraction and a Working Party was established to identify activities that could be undertaken and/or supported by the Parish Council to fulfil these objectives.

The Working Party has the following responsibilities:

  • To make recommendations to the Council to ensure it meets its Action Plan objective of seeking to improve the cycling environment of West Bergholt

The Working Party should comprise of:

  • A Parish Councillor
  • Residents
  • Representatives of local organisations

Implementation:

  • The attendees at the first meeting of the newly constituted group will choose a chairperson and secretary and the Parish Councillor will be nominated to report to the Parish Council on a regular basis.
  • The group will make its recommendations to the Parish Council for discussion and final decision-making and to use its influence on cycling matters on behalf of the Working Party.
  • Any contracts for will be awarded by the Parish Council.
  • The Working Party will meet at least twice a year.

Review:

These terms of reference shall be reviewed annually until such a time as the Working Party is no longer required.
