A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined West Bergholt Parish Council last Thursday to mark the 80th Anniversary of VE Day.![]()
A special shout-out to Heathlands Primary School Captains, Theodor Finnis and Serena Swinger, for proudly raising the VE Day flag, and to the wonderful children from Bluebells Pre-School for taking part in the festivities.![]()
The evening was made memorable by the fantastic performances from the West Bergholt Band and Vocal Zones Choir – thank you for filling the night with music and joy!![]()
And of course, a huge thanks to the incredible women of the West Bergholt WI for treating everyone to the official WI Orange and Ginger Cake – it was absolutely delicious! And a big thanks to all the volunteers that helped throughout the day and evening![]()

Community Climate Action Workshop

Well, the remembrance & celebrations for VE-Day 80 today were certainly more engaging and interactive that when we marked the 75th anniversary during Social Distancing Partial Lockdown. Then Colchester Council projected 1945 celebration films onto the Castle walls with floral arrangements in Castle Park and we were asked to mark the occasion mostly at home. Read more at:
