First Responders looking to raise £8,000

The Colchester First Responders group covering West Bergholt are raising £8,000 to Buy life saving Equipment.  Each kit bag for a Community First Responder costs around £1,500 and is a small price to pay to save a life.  The more kit bags they can buy, the more Community First Responders can be out and about on call. No equipment means there are First Responders out there not able to go on duty as they need a full kit bag to respond. Continue reading “First Responders looking to raise £8,000”

Community Volunteers being sought by RCCE

Are you passionate about your local community and maintaining the health and happiness of the more vulnerable people living in your area? If so the Rural Community Council of Essex (RCCE) is seeking Community Volunteers to assist with a project that will run between February and July 2011.

The role will be to identify and speak to key and trusted local people within a specific geographical area to find ways of reaching and helping those people who need it the most. You will not be expected to make direct contact with those people needing support.

The project will require approximately 30 hours of your time spread over the six month period. While no hourly payment will be made all out of pocket expenses such as travel costs will be reimbursed.

You will receive comprehensive training and benefit from ongoing guidance and support. The role may lead to further opportunities to undertake community related work with the RCCE.

You will need to enjoy meeting people, access to a computer and the ability to use email. You will also need to be able to travel either using public transport or your own vehicle.

To find out more information about being a Community Volunteer please send an email as soon as possible to: [email protected] containing your contact telephone number and the village/town that you live in. No other information is required at this stage. We will then contact you to explain the role in more detail and discuss the requirements.

All email applications must be received before Friday 28th January 2011
