St Mary’s Update – 5th June 2018
St Mary’s Church update for 5th June provides listings of services and other events and news. This update includes Messy Church, FIFA World Cup-themed this month, great fundraising results of the Garden Party and Children’s’ Society box appeal.
Messy Church
The next Messy Church is Sunday 10th June at 9:30 am; the theme will be the Football World Cup! Join us for a family-friendly, informal service with uplifting worship songs and fun activities for all ages. Everyone Welcome!
Evening Prayer
Also on Sunday 10th June, at 6:30 pm, for those who enjoy a more traditional style of service, why not try our Evening Prayer Service on the second Sunday in the month? It is a quiet, reflective service lasting about 30 minutes and based on the Book of Common Prayer.
Children’s Society Boxes
It’s that time of year again! If you have a Children’s Society Box please could you bring it to the church office (open weekdays except for Weds 9am-1pm) as soon as possible so that we can count up the donations. If you can’t get to the office, please ring Liz Dixon on 01206 243683 and she will arrange to collect.
Garden Party
A huge thank you to everyone who donated gifts, ran stalls or who came along on the day to spend their cash! We raised £453 which will go towards the work of our church. Special thanks to Sue & Charles Hart for organising the event, Shelagh & John Newman for their wonderful tea & homemade scones stall & Rev Mandy for lending us her garden!
