St Mary’s Update – 20th July 2018

St Mary’s Update – 20th July 2018

St Mary’s Church update for 20th July provides listings of services and other events and news.  This update includes Harvest Festival, results of Children’s Society collection and calls for help.

Parish Meeting recognized volunteersVillage Fete – 1st September

We are hoping to run a stall at the Village Show. It would be great if St Mary’s could have a presence at the show and our main purpose would be outreach (giving people information on what we have to offer), rather than fundraising, but with some activities for children to get involved in.

However, we do need help manning the stall, so if you can spare half an hour to help on the day, please contact Liz Dixon as soon as possible on 243683 or [antibot mailto=”[email protected]”].

Liz needs to know by Fri 18 August at the latest how many people can help, to know whether it is viable to run the stall.

Harvest FestivalHarvest Festival Weekend – 22nd-23rd September

We will be decorating the church for harvest on Sat 22 Sept from 9.45am. Last year many church and village organisations were happy to decorate one of the smaller windows. It would be lovely if we could repeat that experience.

Please let Fiona Stewart know if you would like to adopt a window to decorate!

Harvest Supper

The Harvest Supper will start at 6 pm on 22nd September, tickets are on sale from 7th August and can be obtained from Ronnie Seymour, email [antibot mailto=”[email protected]”].

Family Service

The Harvest Festival Service will be a Family Service starting at 9.30 am on 23rd September.

Children's SocietyChildren’s Society Boxes

A huge thank you to all our Children’s Society Box Holders. This year’s collection raised over £257! Funds raised from the collection boxes are vital in helping the Children’s Society mission of supporting disadvantaged children and young people. If you would like a box, please contact Liz Dixon on [antibot mailto=”[email protected]”].
