Meeting on 11th November 2024, the Planning & Development Committee first reviewed actions from the previous meeting. These included confirming submission of updates to the Neighbourhood Plan. The committee then discussed 4 applications, variously in Bures Road, Mumford Close, Chapel Road & Scarletts Chase. All four were supported.

Minutes of the Planning and Development Committee Meeting
Held on Monday 11th November 2024 at 7.30pm in the John Lampon Hall
It is the aim of the Parish Council to seek a high standard of design for all new developments and extensions in the Village.
The Parish Council will take into account the West Bergholt Neighbourhood Plan, Government National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) and CBC Planning Policies when commenting on individual applications.

Apologies received from Cllr Bob Tyrell. Cllr Paul Chamberlain (Vice Chair) took the Chair and welcomed everyone to the meeting.

3. Minutes & actions from previous meeting
Minutes of the 14th October 2024 meeting were all agreed.
The Planning & Development Committee formally agreed the update to the Neighbourhood Plan and recommended this action to the Parish Council at their meeting held on 25th September 2024. The PC committee were all in favour.
Action: Cllr Butcher will now liaise with the Clerk to update the Neighbourhood Plan for submission to Laura Golding.
Resolved: The amendments to the West Bergholt Neighbourhood plan were submitted to Laura Golding at CCC on 24th October 24 by the Parish Clerk.
240964 Blackheath Bulb Company, Nayland Road, West Bergholt CO6 3DE:
Action The Parish Council has decided to submit a letter to The Planning Inspectorate outlining their objection to the appeal.
Resolved: The letter was drafted by Cllr Tyrell, agreed by the Planning & Development Committee, and submitted online to the Appeals Casework Portal on 28th October 2024 by the Clerk Assistant.

Comment: Having considered all the details of this application, the Parish Council has decided to support the application subject to approval being conditional on the converted garage only being used solely by people associated with, and users of, the main dwelling, and that it is not sold or let separately to the applicant’s main property.
