It is the aim of the Parish Council to seek a high standard of design for all new developments and extensions in the Village.
The Parish Council will take into account the Village Design Statement and the West Bergholt Neighbourhood Plan, when making comments and decisions on Planning Applications
Item 1: To elect a Chairman of the Planning Committee and Vice-chairman.
Cllr Bob Tyrrell was re-elected as Chairman of the Planning Committee
Cllr Brian Butcher was re-elected as Vice-chairman.
Item 2: To receive any pre-application representations regarding proposed planning applications.
A resident came to talk to the Planning Committee about his current planning application for a single storey extension to his property. The Planning Committee had previously objected to the proposal as the proposed flat roof on one side could be seen from a main road. Alternatives were discussed together, however, having looked back at the 2011 plans held online by CBC both the applicant and the Committee were happy with the previous pitched roof plans. The resident will now go back to CBC with a new proposal and the Committee will look forward to receiving the revised drawings.

Item 4: To discuss the virtual informal hearing date of 8th June 2021 for the NEEB (PA 180733) proposal at Armoury Road, West Bergholt.
Two residents were in attendance to discuss receipt of the informal NEEB hearing date. They requested clarification on how the process works and what the programme on the day will entail, which the Committee answered as much as they could. Only new information can be sent to the inspector, everything previously submitted will already have been read by him. A decision will be made regarding the site at this hearing.
ACTION – Clerk to check with CBC what the inspector’s programme will be.
