It is the aim of the Parish Council to seek a high standard of design for all new developments and extensions in the Village. 

The Parish Council will take into account the Village Design Statement and the West Bergholt Neighbourhood Plan, emerging planning policy and CBC Planning policies when making comments and decisions on Planning Applications

Item 1: To receive any pre-application representations regarding proposed planning applications.

A resident of Chapel Road, who had previously withdrawn a planning application from Colchester Borough Council (CBC), attended the meeting in order to share his latest plans following discussions with a CBC Planning Officer and Conservation Officer. The new proposed plans showed a complete redesign, which he is hoping will find favour with both the Parish Council and CBC. At present, with only the floor plans were available, the Parish Council were positive about the design and look forward to receiving the entire application including elevations. The Council would however ask that street views are included in the application in order to ascertain the impact on the neighbour’s properties and the view from the highway.
