First Bus AppDid you know that the First Bus App can help check if your bus is on time or delayed? First Bus provides the 66 bus service to the village which runs from Rowhedge/Old Heath via ColchesterTown Centre. Winter is approaching & using the App may help you avoid waiting in the cold.
The App helps you to:
- buy & use paper-free cheaper bus tickets with your phone,
- find bus times – tap on a bus stop icon to get live* & scheduled times by picking the time & date of travel,
- access bus timetables & save your favourite bus stops,
- check bus reliability.
(* nb – live times are shown where buses have tracking equipment installed & First are continuously upgrading their buses so all can be tracked).
Most of the buses now accept contactless payments by card, so you won’t need to find the right change.
Service Reliability
Parish Councillors told First Bus at Transport meetings about residents concerns on service reliability. The reality is that there will always be circumstances outside of their control resulting in cancellations. Councillors advised First that the 66 route appears to suffer disproportionately and so requested that they spread the pain more fairly.
First Bus supplied information for the 66 bus that shows for the month of September, their busiest month, that 1 week out of 4 met their 95% target & they are internally looking to improve the service & its reliability.
