Decision Time for Neighbourhood Plan
After nearly 7 years of planning and consultation, it is now decision time for the West Bergholt Neighbourhood Plan. The Statutory ‘Regulation 16’ Consultation has taken place and some changes recommended. Consequently, a final version of the plan will soon be available on the website.
The decision will be made by referendum of registered electors which will take place on Thursday 19th September 2019. The referendum will ask the following simple question:
Do you want Colchester to use the Neighbourhood Plan for West Bergholt to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?
This is an important decision so if you are unable to vote please check the deadlines for alternative voting arrangements:
Deadline dates
The Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) is based at Rowan House, 33 Sheepen Road, Colchester, CO3 3WG.
New applications to register to vote must reach the ERO by midnight on Tuesday 3 September 2019. Applications can be made online: www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes must reach the ERO, by 5 pm on Wednesday 4 September 2019.
Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes and amendments or cancellations of existing proxy votes must reach the ERO by 5 pm on Wednesday 4 September 2019.
New applications to vote by proxy at this referendum must reach the ERO by 5 pm on Wednesday 11 September 2019.
