The advowson descended through the Sackville family (Edmund de la Pole married a Sackville) until 1775. When the Sackville family sold the manor in the late 16th century they apparently retained the advowson, although they allowed other holders of the manor to present. In 1775 John Sackville, Duke of Dorset, sold the advowson to Robert Drummond who sold in 1777 to Marshal Lugar who sold to Thomas Fisher in 1881.
The longest serving Rector was John Roberts, 1392-1446, (54 years) followed by the Rev. A.J. Havard, who was rector for 47 years.
